Apulia olive farmers battle deadly epidemic

Olive growers in Italy’s southeastern Apulia region are felling trees in an attempt to contain a bacterial infection that is killing their plants and threatening their livelihoods.

Olive oil exports have been a major factor in the regional economy for centuries.
